Kudos to Jackson, WY, Police Department

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, U.S. Army (Ret.) is a preeminent law enforcement and military motivational speaker, author, and director of the Killology Research Group. I became a fan of LTC Grossman when I read his piece “On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs,” which was extracted from his book, “On Combat.” As you might guess from the title of this blog, LTC Grossman’s philosophies have had a big impact on me. I’ve written a number of blogs on Sheepdogs and/or Sheep. See the previous Blog link-list below.

I’m currently reading LTC Grossman’s book, “On Killing.” I decided to share the work with a number of friends, so I sent out an e-mail recommending the book. Immediately, I got a return e-mail from a former partner, who now works for Jackson, WY, Police Department. He wrote,

We bought his books for the Dept library, assign them out with the trainee while on FTO and send all our troops to one of his classes. Good stuff.

Wow! The Jackson Police Department, which is not very large, has put to shame a number of its Southern California cousins. And, I suspect a goodly percentage of law enforcement agencies throughout the land, as well.

Well done Jackson P.D.! I suspect that you are fostering the development of Sheepdogs with a warrior spirit. That’s what this nation needs to persevere in the years to come.
