When Does the Lefty Media Begin to Scream?

The lefty media has no problem kicking-up a dust storm over allegations that Pres. George W. Bush is circumventing the democratic system with power grabs. Now it is their turn to complain about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Republicans are howling over what appears to be Nancy Pelosi’s plan to bypass the House Appropriations Committee on the upcoming Iraq war supplemental, complaining that the move will be the beginning of the end of the usual appropriations process and will further consolidate power in the hands of a speaker who already has a lot of it.1

I don’t think we’re going to hear much on the issue from our lefty apologists from the main stream media. What a surprise.

Bumper Sticker for the Ostrisheep

This bumper sticker comes to us from where else but lefty Santa Cruz County, CA? Well, certainly it is undoubtedly found elsewhere. According to the small print at the bottom, it is provided by MoveOn.org, though the web site did not have a section to purchase bumper stickers.

Reflecting the history of the human race, the bumper sticker is more closely correct with “Endless War.” The trouble with those who counsel us to withdraw from war is that they always counsel us to avoid conflict regardless of the consequences. In essence, they give advice to remain as bleating sheep while the enemy saws away at the collective throats of mankind.

Today’s anti-war folks are cut from the same cloth as those in the past who argued against opposing Communism. The latter opposed the efforts of the free world to contain Communist aggression and persecution in SE Asia, the Ukraine, Cuba and Eastern Europe to the tune of millions of deaths. In their time, the U.S. anti-Vietnam war crowd was safe and secure in a country protected by their countrymen and paid no personal price for their actions, which ultimately resulted in the S.E. Asia slaughter. I wonder if their conscious ever bothered them.

Currently, the U.S. anti-war crowd is again secure at no personal cost and safe from the butchers’ actions abroad. That is changing. The radical Islamists have struck the homeland, and they are coming back to do it again and again and again.

Can we call this portion of the sheep population cowards? Perhaps that is a little harsh. But, they don’t possess the spine that it takes to stand-up to aggressors, even philosophically. I suspect that their anti-war passion is driven by the mechanism of denial with an underlying root cause of unrecognized fear of conflict couched in terms of a desire for universal peace. Unfortunately, “Denial has no survival value.”1 It’s as if these sheep are cross-bred with ostriches, and they perpetually have their heads in the sand. Let’s call these people “Ostrisheep.”

People of America, if you let the apologists of violence (Ostrisheep) drive the national foreign policy debate, you and/or your children, grandchildren or friends will suffer the very real personal fate previously visited upon the victims of Communism, Fascism and Radical Islam the world over.

Al-Qaida Wants Credit & Reveals Leftist Lie

Westerners who simplify the radical Islamic threat do so either out-of-ignorance and/or as a deliberate intent to obfuscate. Case-in-point are those who maintain that the Iraq conflict is an illegitimate war front and that Afghanistan was and is the only legitimate target because it was from Afghanistan that Al-Qaida launched the 9/11 attacks.

For those who don’t yet know fundamentalist strains of Islam exist in various sects of Islam, not the least of which includes both Sunnis and Shias. And, while Sunnis and Shias can work together in mutual support, at the end of the day the fundamentalists hate each other. Both consider the other to be infidels. And, each expects to inherit the Muslim world at the expense of the other.

Al-Qaida, a Sunni based network, is upset with Iran, a Shia nation, because allegedly Iran is spreading false rumors resulting in Al-Qaida losing credit for the 9/11 attacks.

Osama bin Laden's chief deputy in an audiotape Tuesday accused Shiite Iran of trying to discredit the Sunni al-Qaida terror network by spreading the conspiracy theory that Israel was behind the Sept. 11 attacks.1

The comments reflected al-Qaida's No. 2 leader Ayman al-Zawahri's increasing criticism of Iran. Al-Zawahri has accused Iran in recent messages of seeking to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.1
"The purpose of this lie is clear — (to suggest) that there are no heroes among the Sunnis who can hurt America as no else did in history. Iranian media snapped up this lie and repeated it,"…1.

Don’t accept the simplistic tripe that U.S. leftists and liberals spew in order to convince you that the U.S. does not belong in the Iraq conflict and that the radical Islamic threat is only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Surely I don’t have to convince anyone that the nuclear bomb desiring Iranian Shia theocracy (courtesy of the former leftist President Jimmy Carter) is a threat to world peace. I guess there is one person, Barack Obama, who needs to be convinced because he is proposing sitting down and talking with Iran. That will work as well as Carter talking to Hamas. Carter and Obama; two leftist peas in a pod.

Thanks to Ayman al-Zawahri, it is clear that the radical Islamic threat is not unified, and it is, therefore, all the more difficult to address.

To those who complain that President George W. Bush took his eye off the terrorist ball by attacking Iraq, understand that there is more than one ball in the game. Those who can’t or won’t grasp the picture must be flaming liberals or leftists, which beg the question as to why I bothered to write this piece. I suppose I wrote it for the misinformed liberals who still have a potential of taking off the blinders. Read “War and Decision: Inside the Pentagon at the Dawn of the War on Terrorism” with all the footnotes to prove the points.

SHAME, Never Again

"On Killing", pg 289

During and immediately after Vietnam our society judged and condemned millions of returning veterans as accessories of murder. At one level many, even most, of these horrified, confused veterans accepted society’s media driven, kangaroo-court conviction and justice and locked themselves in prisons of the worst kind, prisons in their mind. A prison whose name was PTSD.1
I am ashamed to be part of such a morally corrupt generation, which treated our own people so shamefully.

Our military personnel are again returning to us after suffering immense trauma. Fortunately, we are not spitting on the people who suffered on our behalf, but we are not motivated to ease their emotional/psychological burdens. That must change.

Sowell Nails Obama as “A Living Lie”

Thomas Sowell posits that Barack Obama’s carefully crafted presidential candidate image is a lie, denying his traditional elitist left persona.

An e-mail from a reader said that, while Hillary Clinton tells lies, Barack Obama is himself a lie. That is becoming painfully apparent with each new revelation of how drastically his carefully crafted image this election year contrasts with what he has actually been saying and doing for many years.1
Senator Obama's election year image is that of a man who can bring the country together, overcoming differences of party or race, as well as solving our international problems by talking with Iran and other countries with which we are at odds, and performing other miscellaneous miracles as needed.1
There is, of course, not a speck of evidence that Obama has ever transcended party differences in the United States Senate.1

Obama’s image is beginning to publicly unravel with the revelations by talk radio and the Internet. The image also took a serious hit during the Pennsylvania debate between Obama and Hillary Clinton. Based upon the uproar from leftist bloggers and columnists, the left is angry that there man is beginning to be shown for what he is: an associate of racist minister and proponent of black liberation theology Jeremiah Wright; an associate with Muslim racist, anti-Semite and head of the Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan; an associate with terrorist and unrepentant former member of the Weather Underground William Ayers; an associate with Palestinian supporter and anti-Semite Rashid Khalidi; and a holder of elitist leftist philosophy as demonstrated by his condescending characterizing of the people of Pennsylvania as bitter and clinging to religion and guns.

Barack spent some twenty years trying to develop black street creds and political acumen in the rough and tumble environs of Chicago. He succeeded well enough to advance in state politics and on to the U.S. Senate without any serious media examination of his persona. Until the ABC sponsored Pennsylvania debate, the left leaning media pitched Barack nothing but softballs, as their version of serious reporting. They did not treat Hillary Clinton as nicely. Why would they do that? I suspect that Shelby Steele can make a good case for institutional racism, another darling philosophy of the left.

The picture of the couple, who aspire to occupy the White House, is beginning to come into focus. Barack is elitist and leftist. His wife, Michelle, is an ingrate, who personally benefited from American opportunities to attain personal wealth and position only dreamt about by most others.

Not All Law Enforcement Agencies Are Combating the Terrorist Threat

Despite the traditional rancor that exists between local law enforcement agencies and some federal law enforcement agencies, locals have always enjoyed a federal contribution to local policing efforts. The F.B.I., A.T.F., I.R.S. and Secret Service investigate local crimes that fit within their particular niche. Now the federal contribution is dropping, and it is a good thing. It is dropping because the feds have appropriately shifted resources to terrorism and illegal immigration.

From an article on Federal enforcement:

Federal law-enforcement agencies are referring fewer criminal investigations for prosecution, including white-collar crimes, long a mainstay of the FBI's crime-fighting mission.1

A recent study by the Transactional Records Action Clearinghouse, a Syracuse University research center, found the FBI is instead focusing more on terrorism cases, especially after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.1

Immigration-related prosecutions… increased by 215 percent over the same period and terrorism cases by776 percent.1

It took 9/11/2001 to start the monumental federal directional shift away from traditional law enforcement activities and toward the intelligence function. Terrorism is, after all, a primary federal responsibility. It is not an easy task for the F.B.I. to transform itself into an intelligence agency. It is difficult shoving tenured Special Agents out of their comfortable roles and into the intelligence community. I suspect that is why so many new agents are assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Forces.

As you might guess, not all local law enforcement agencies have welcomed the federal change of direction. Several years ago, one California county association of police executives sent a letter of complaint to F.B.I. headquarters in Wash., D.C. That spoke volumes about the local misunderstanding concerning the significance of the terrorist people of interest in their county.

Fortunately, many state and local law enforcement agencies are embracing their responsibility to join and augment a national effort to combat terrorism. That responsibility begins within the jurisdictional boundaries of every law enforcement agency because that is where the terrorist supporters are secreted and plotting.

From the L.A.P.D.:

"Homeland security is really hometown security,"2

The N.Y.P.D. fully recognized those facts and said so in their seminal study, “Radicalization in the West The Homegrown Threat.”

Jihadist or jihadi-Salafi ideology is the driver that motivates young men and women, born or living in the West, to carry out “autonomous jihad” via acts of terrorism against their host countries. It guides movements, identifies the issues, drives recruitment and is the basis for action.3

L.A.P.D. recognized the terrorist reality and joined many other agencies by forming a Terrorism Liaison Officer program. The goal is to train officers and the public to recognize and report terrorism pre-incident indicators. That information is then funneled to the department’s intelligence officers for analysis and appropriate distribution.

The Los Angeles Police Department has launched a new reporting system aimed to help connect dots that could uncover local terror plots — a program that police departments in other major cities across the country hope to incorporate into their daily routines as well.2
Since the Sept. 11 attacks, more local police agencies have been training
officers to look for certain indicators of terrorist activity.2
The optimal word for local participation in the national terrorism effort is “SOME,” since many law enforcement agencies have not yet joined. Federal ownership of the primary responsibility for combating terrorism does not relieve local responsibility.

All terrorism is a local issue. Just because a local jurisdiction does not have a high likelihood of being on the receiving end of a terrorist act does not mean that the jurisdiction is free of the plotters and their cohorts. Doesn’t the local law enforcement agency have a responsibility to do all that it can to search them out? Waiting for the feds to singly address the problem is foolish because the national task is massive, resources are limited and the best information is more readily available to the local law enforcement agencies.

Disgraceful are the agencies which have refused a federal invitation to join a joint task force.

Unconscionable are the law enforcement agencies which are simply giving lip-service to the need and don’t actually contribute to the cause. In essence, these agencies are lying to their city fathers and citizens.

To the citizens with law enforcement agencies which are not carrying their weight to protect the American people, it could be you, your loved ones, or friends who pay the price of the negligence. These agencies are supposed to work for you. Tell your city leaders what you want your police force to do. Find your voice, and find it loudly!

“Uu-ah” to All You Civilian Sheepdogs

Battle cries or rallying calls epitomize and reinforce the coalescence and solidification of individuals into inclusive fraternities.

U.S. Military groups, and indeed military groups all over the world, utilize a unique guttural sound as a battle cry, verbal greeting or expression of enthusiasm. The U.S. Marines give a sound depicted as “Oorah, Urah or Ooh-rah.” The U.S. Army uses “Hooah,” and the U.S. Navy Seals a “Hooyah.”

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman (Ret.) wrote a piece classifying the military and law enforcement segments of society as “Sheepdogs” engaged in the mighty fight to protect the general society, “Sheep,” from evil humans, the “Wolves.”

Civilian Sheepdogs lack a distinctive fraternal expression, and we don’t have as strong a fraternal identification as Military Sheepdogs. We Civilian Sheepdogs need to do better if we are to successfully combat the dangers confronting our society. I, therefore, propose and adopt “Uu-ah” as the Civilian Sheepdog rallying call.

Muslim Educational Trojan Horse

It was bad enough when New York City was complicit in sponsoring a school specializing in the Arabic language and culture under the guise of an official “bi-lingual” school.

The Khalil Gibran International Academy is not a bi-lingual school in the traditional concept. Rather, it is a school to teach the Arabic culture and the Arabic language as a second language.

By teaching in a sequestered school both the Arabic language and the Arabic culture, you can be sure that there is a heavy emphasis on Islam. That puts the school into the realm of being a publicly funded madrassa. This is a dangerous precedent and a severe threat to the American society by supporting a culture that wants to impose Sharia and Islam upon all.

Now it’s determined that a Minnesota charter school is acting as a madrassa at taxpayer’s expense.

… Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a K-8 charter school in Inver Grove Heights. Charter schools are public schools and by law must not endorse or promote religion.

TIZA has many characteristics that suggest a religious school. It shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, whose ission
is "establishing Islam in Minnesota." The building also houses a mosque. TIZA's executive director, Asad Zaman, is a Muslim imam, or religious leader, and its sponsor is an organization called Islamic Relief.

The evidence suggests that the Islamic training, praying and reading of the Qu’ran is compulsory. If this was a Christian school engaged in like Christian religious activity, there would be howls of protest from the liberal-left. But, it is not.

Wake up America. There is an Islamic Trojan Horse in our midst, and it will disgorge Islamic trained children susceptible to the Sharia and Jihad messages. Look in your own communities for the virus burrowing into our communal body. America must come up with an Islamofacist vaccine, and soon.

Wounded Warriors Push the Envelope

Physical touch between American males is problematic outside certain prescribed circumstances like shaking hands, or an equivalent high five. Bear hugs between male family members or warriors are acceptable providing each is comfortable with it. Other than that, males do not generally touch each other except in violence or physical competition.

For the American male the physical touch with an adult female is heavily infused with sexual overtones. Not so for women touching men. Women have a greater ability to segregate sexual and non-sexual touch. Accordingly, women reap benefits of touch for which males are often self-exempted.

Both of the preceding paragraphs are generalizations. And true to any generalization, there are plenty of individual exceptions. I know this to be true as I am both a Sheepdog and a massage therapist. I work most of my day in a testosterone laden law enforcement environment. And, I’ve spent the last ten years as a massage therapist with mostly a female clientele.

The American male warrior environment has a hard time accepting the alternative world of massage, yoga and meditation. But, times are changing. Witness the recent “Warrior Couple Readjustment Retreat” for U.S. Marine families trying to cope with the stresses of warriors who left and returned with the baggage of war.

Fighting in Iraq took a heavy toll on Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel Patrick, damaging his hand, injuring his brain and causing him to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. But Patrick's body wasn't the only thing hurt by combat. His relationship with his wife was wounded, too. The couple got arried shortly after he returned, but Patrick refused to talk to her about the war. Sometimes he yelled at her.

So the pair marked their first anniversary this past weekend at a Marine Corps retreat that took a decidedly unmilitary approach to saving arriages: Combining classes in communication with massage therapy, yoga and meditation. It's an effort by the military to ease the strain on married couples when soldiers return to civilian life after long, repeated deployments.

Robin Seibert, 38, nods as she listens. After seven years of marriage, she knows the frustration that comes with a military marriage. But nothing repared her for her husband's three consecutive deployments, including the one that ended in April 2006 when a mortar round riddled his body with 100 pieces of shrapnel.

According to the article, Aaron Seibert, Robin’s husband, is “…battling mood swings and a flaring temper that come with PTSD.” Does it surprise me that Aaron “Doc,” a Navy Corpsman, has PTSD? Yes it does, and no it doesn’t.

I can call Doc an acquaintance because I met him three times on a social basis. And, I can tell you that he is tremendously loved by the warriors in the last U.S. Marine unit in which he served. Doc was still physically healing from his injuries and his limp was noticeable as he greeted his unit at Camp Pendleton upon their return from an Iraq deployment. The affection, with their subtle and not so subtle signs, was evident.

I am surprised that Doc has PTSD because on the occasions that I was with him he was friendly, outgoing, and conversational. I had no reference to his personality prior to deployment and so any subtle clues evaded me. Besides that, I had no knowledge of the dynamics of his private life.

On the other hand, I am not surprised that Doc has PTSD because the disorder is quite common for Sheepdogs, the warriors of our society. As LTC Dave Grossman writes in his seminal work “On Killing,” humans have a well of emotional strength that is sapped and often drained empty leaving the warrior psychologically injured.

I am also surprised that the U.S. Marines ventured out into the alternative world to help their people.

When you start getting into the whole mind-body thing and the touchy-feeling thing with Marines, you have to present it in a way they are going to get into it," said Cari Gardonne, who helped design the sessions.*

Human touch and the alternative healing world can help our warriors. Hooah to the U.S. Marines for recognizing those touchy-feely facts and doing something about it.

Disinformation-Tool of the Chinese Wolf

The Communist Chinese wolves categorized the Dali Lama a “wolf in monk’s robes.”

China has branded the Dalai Lama a "wolf in monk's robes" and his ollowers the "scum of Buddhism."

The assertion would be laughable if it wasn’t for all the dupes who will believe it. Pay attention as China continues its long goal of eliminating the culture and people of Tibet.

Someone Has to Pay the Bills

Wait a minute. The current Republican members of Congress are not much better than the Democratic Party.

A Goose Has More Common Sense

Some people don’t have the good sense that God gave a goose. I’m talking about the citizen who sees a suspicious person in a parked car, and the citizen decides to take matters into his own hands and confront the occupant of the car. That’s really stupid in this day and age. Follow my logic here. If the person is there for nefarious reasons, might not that person be dangerous? Wouldn’t it make more sense to call the police and make a report of the situation? And, if the person is there for a non-nefarious reason, why would the citizen be intent upon bothering the motorist? For instance, is it not possible that the motorist is a police officer conducting a surveillance?

Here’s what happened to me yesterday. My team is dispersed throughout a neighborhood conducting a surveillance when suddenly a large male aggressively approaches my car from the front holding a video camera and ostensibly videotaping me through the front windshield. He then comes around to the driver’s door and continues the videotaping. If it had been nighttime, there would have been a gun pointed directly at this guy’s chest.

I now have to make a decision. Do I reveal that I am a police officer or not. If I do reveal the fact, is it likely that the person is going to guess the object of the surveillance and tip people off to our presence? In this case, I deem the person to be less than an upstanding citizen based upon his previous activity violating traffic laws, his attire and his aggressiveness. Yes, I profiled him. It’s a fact of life. Got a problem with that?

Decision made, I roll down the window and rhetorically state to him, “Why don’t you just go away?” He says, “You are looking at something. Are you a P.I.?” I said, “No and if you don’t like it, go call the police.” I rolled the window back up, and the fool walked away.

Aggressively confronting people is a good way to get shot if you pick the wrong person to confront. If the citizen had called the police, which is unlikely if he is a creep, they would have told him that there is not a problem without revealing either my identity or the reason of my presence.

I once admonished a woman for sending out her teenage kids to videotape me and my car. What are these people thinking?
